Meetings in Lilongwe | Sunbird Lilongwe

If you follow me on Social Media, then you know that I am on a #vacationwithSunbirdDecember Tour. It is festive season – and we are all looking for ways to spend this last month of 2018 right, with all the people we love.

I am going around Sunbird Hotels for their entire month to find fun things that you can do at all their hotels nationwide.

I landed from Rwanda on the 18th and quickly had to go back to work, which was very exhausting for me and I started feeling like a vacation. However, I did not have enough time to

1. The New Rooms

Sunbird is renovating its rooms pretty much all around the country and I spent the last weekend at Lilongwe with Patience Namadingo exploring the new rooms. Initially, when I thought about spending a night within the city, I was not too enthusiastic about the rooms as I had in mind what they looked like before. I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw when I got there. They are completely renovated!

2. The 265 Lounge

I have loved the 265 Lounge since it was launched – and Patience and I stopped by for a quick drink and a chat. It is perfectly situated on the right wing of the hotel – which gives you a lot of privacy from the regular hotel guests if you are just looking to a slow fun evening.

3. The variety of meals

Of course I will always fall in love with meals and Sunbird does not cease to amaze. The Lilongwe hotel prides itself in its Local Cuisines which you can find any day at the 265 Lounge or at the Buffet on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The breakfasts are always to die for, and I had a nice breakfast with my former neighbor, Erica as she was about to move out of our compound.

4. The Poolside

You know me and water. Before my weekend, I had honestly not heard of Lilongwe Hotel having a pool. If I wanted to swim, my option would be Capital Hotel. I was amused to know there is a pool, small, clean and private too. Great for family time, especially with kids.

5. The Different Types of room settings

So far, I know of five types of rooms at Sunbird Lilongwe Hotel. The have the deluxe rooms which are found indoors. Then there are the chalets that face the pool, and newly renovated deluxe studio rooms that you find on your right just after the reception. I do like having options!

6. The hospitality

I spend a lot of my time in hotels but the hospitality at Sunbird beats! The staff are so warm, caring, attentive and kind. They really do make you feel at home.

7. It is within the city

Like I said, I did not feel like leaving the city and I was very happy that I did not need to. I like a peaceful city hotel for a lovely get-away that does not require you to go too far.

8. Efficient for Business Meetings

It being within the city means you can call up your business partners for a quick meeting over a coffee or a drink. The hotel has an open restaurant, and a few lounges and spaces for your comfort and preference.

10. You may meet someone you know.

Well duh! I ran into Patience Namadingo there, which I probably would not have done somewhere far. A lot of people are around city hotels for work and otherwise, and if you are a social being, you would definitely enjoy being in a place where you are likely to run into an old friend!

So there you have it -more than 10 reasons to visit Sunbird Lilongwe Hotel. Do consider Sunbird Lilongwe Hotel as a destination the next time you go to Lilongwe. Let me know how your weekends go in the comments below.

All my love,

Ntha
