I have spent the past week in Mangochi with Sunbird Hotels and Resorts. If you follow me on instagram, then I hope by now I have given you at least 10 Reasons to love Sunbird Nkopola.
If you missed my social media flooding about Nkopola,you’re in luck because I have 10 Reasons to show you why Nkopola stole my heart completely!
1. The Beach
I have loved the beach at Sunbird Nkopola since I was a little girl. It is a beautiful long stretch that has beautiful sands perfect for chilling and relaxing. When it is safe, you can also take a quick dip in the lake.
By the way, I noticed the lake is clearing up and quite clean to swim in now as compared to recent years. That’s a yaay for me.
2. The beachside rooms
The rooms at Nkopola are brilliant and all face the beach. They have recently decorated their VIP rooms and it feels like a little home away from home
3. The hospitality!
I have been in a lot of hotels but the hospitality as Sunbird beats! The staff are so warm, caring, attentive and kind. They really do make you feel at home.
4. The Watersport activities (Jet skiis and speedboats!)
Nkopola recently introduced Jetskiis and Speedboats to their Watersports fun package and I have honestly never had so much fun on water. Combining my love for water and speed – it’s a yes from this adrenaline junkie!
5. The trip to Bird Island and the beatiful fish
As part of my vacation, we went to bird island (a national park Island on Lake Malawi). Now I have been to the island at least twice now but I always dreaded the trip there given it takes a bit of time.
With the introduction of the speedboats, we got there and back in literally no time. The scenery, the fish, the birds and the eagles were just stunning views!
6. The all white modern room decor
The New renovated rooms are beautiful and homely with mostly all white decor and beige furniture. I was right at home!
P.S.They also have some new affordable rooms at Sunbird Nokpola Leisure Centre just half a kilometre and literally a beach away from Nkopola Lodge.
7. The Sunrise!
I adore sunrises and sunsets and the way the Sun rises over the lake at Nkopola is utterly breathtaking. My breath was literally taken away.
8. The cocktails at the Malindi bar!
Nkopola recently renovated the Malindi bar and it looks stunning now. But what I really fell in love with were the cocktails. A vacation perfected!
9. The food
Of course I will always fall in love with meals and Nkopola does not cease to amaze. They really pride themselves on their fish dishes and I understand why
10. The new gym
Now with the New gym we caused a stir on social media because I chose to work out in a bikini. Haa.
But that’s the beauty of being on a vacation. You can have fun and relax while still doing the same things you love.
The new gym is beautifully equipped and located just below the Malindi bar.
