Life Currently {10} | “By The End of Your Teens” Book Launch, Birth Month Diaries

Hey loves,

I know I terribly suck at updating this segment of the blog – let us begin there. It is not because I do not want to, but my life just tends to spiral out of control.

I am slowly stabilizing, and I am excited about this fact. Hannah on IG recently asked me how I balance all that I do, and I have been thinking about that a lot, lately.

Since I last updated this segment, I am reminded how fast my life changes!

I turned 23! twenty-whole-three!

I had the most beautiful birthweek and I was spoilt deeply by all the people I love (check my IG for what I was up to).

Shortly before my birthday, I got into a car accident, on the 25th of July.  People have been asking me what happened, but it is not particularly an encounter I enjoy thinking or talking about.

Briefly, I was speeding and trailing behind someone, so in try to get clear and overtake him, I made a misjudgment and saw a car coming on from the other direction. I had two choices – a head on collision or to ram into the back of the other car.

One thing about me is that I am a fixer and I think fast. When I realized that I had messed up, best bet was to ram into this car ahead of me and I was quickly swiveled off the road and hit a good amount of tree stumps that sure did my car some (in)justice.

I got out alive, with minor scratches, thank God! My car was not as lucky. I guess one of us had to take a hit to protect the other, so thanks for protecting my life, Lizzie. “Lizzie” is my car’s name, BTW. Other people call her Esse, but to me she’s so much more than that.

We are still waiting for BeForward to act accordingly and send the spare parts. You would think they are sending me a whole car for the amount of time it is taking them. Apparently one month to go. Yaay! Not.

Otherwise it has been a great month. I kept talking about how great the second half of 2018 would be for me. Boy did I forget how stressful it would be too.

Let’s try to go through the changes I have been through together:

Planning: My book launch, tour, and everything in between. Honey I am stressed!

Making: A shoerack! I am almost done furnishing my house. I currently am remaining with my bedroom (getting some metallic furniture done by an old friend) and then finally the kitchen!

Creating: The Chic Redefined Magazine – barely. I am really stressed but I am trying to get it done hey.

Eating: a lot of take out! I normally grab dinner with D after gym on our way home. At least this take out is healthy (not KFC… hehehe)

Drinking: Fruit juices and my protein supplements. Oh yeas. The health. I just need a little more water and I should be good.

Reading: A lot of monologues towards the International Conference of Family Planning.

Currently Reading: Nothing, actually. The publishing has gotten to me.

Writing: A lot of blogposts. I have at least 10 drafts in the making. I am on a roll! Be prepared!

Playing: It cool. I am so chill with my life lately. A perfect balance of hard work, and chill!

Wanting: Funding towards my book tour. I want to donate as many books as I can!

Needing: My car back! My car is still stranded. Spare parts are a mess to find. Sigh.

Regretting: Speeding so much on that day. Definitely lesson learnt. But will I speed again? Highly likely. I love speed!

Wishing: A new car. Well less wishing and more working for it hey.

Enjoying: The ease and joys of my life

Loving: the time spent and conversations shared with D. Easily the most brilliant man I know.

Following: As many people as my posts. i have a new principle – for every post shared on social media, I follow a new person/personality. Expanding my horizon.

Thinking: Of the day after the book launch. Chile the peace!

Overthinking: What the response on my book will be. So scared.

Admiring: Zendaya, as of today. Such an effortlessly gorgeous soul. How

Opening: Up to new possibilities. Isn’t life full of surprises.

Listening to: “Right my way” by Pendo and Ted Muva. Easily the best produced international standard Malawian song. Let’s see if we can get them to perform at the book launch hey.

Watching: A lot of CNN.  Yes. I am officially old.

Grateful for: Beautiful souls that work as hard as we do, to help us realise our dreams. Thanks D.

Now that August is done and I am no longer in birthday mode, it is time to jump into this book launch planning with both feet. I have never been more anxious about anything in my life – but I am also kind of excited.

I am so grateful to all the organisations that are supporting me in this venture – the German Embassy at the top of it all. All the donor agencies involved and my corporate partners. You make my endeavors a breeze and a joy, to say the least!

If you are reading this and you are interested in coming to the book launch, you are officially invited by me! Do feel free to drop me an email RSVPing and I will be sure to add you to the guest list.

I am wishing you a lovely September. Keep winning.

All my love,

Ntha x
