Knit Goodies – Kaya Mawa Shop

I love being Malawian for all the unique gifts we have.

I grew up knitting. I loved it. So I always appreciated a nice warm woolen fabric.

Coincidentally, I was wearing something woolen I made myself from an old dress.

Why I love woolen materials? For the most part, they are very warm. they are also comfortable. It is a little cold in Malawi at the moment so knit fabric is definitely a go to.

I was literally obsessed with how soft the knits are. Some of the raw materials are imported, but everything is all made by Malawi resident women and the brand is called “Amayi” hich means “women” in Chichewa.

More interesting is the set up of the shop. The art detailing! Yes Yes Yes! It was so carefully set up and it is so inspiring.

If you are ever at Latitude 13 Hotels in Lilongwe I say give “Kaya Mawa” shop a sweet tour for some knit goodies or just some interior decor inspiration. It is right across from the reception desk. I promise you will not leave uninspired.
