Chic Redefined | The Rebrand

2 years ago, I decided to quit style and lifestyle blogging.

I was losing my voice, failing to measure the impact of my work, and in need for something more, bigger, better.

I decided to quit blogging so I could pursue my media career as a producer and publisher.

So what have I been up to?

Since I quit style/lifestyle blogging, I have published my first book (By The End of Your Teens), done one TV Show (My Malawi), created a Newsletter (Morning Star – which is published right here on this site), and currently building up some shows and documentaries/docu-series.

To keep up with our upcomin work, please follow these social media pages:

@NthaFoundation

@ByNthaMedia

@NYKMCollective

@MngStarNews

@MyMalawiTravel

@KwathuMusic

and

@WMUMw

I will clarify at a later stage what all these brands and products are about.

So I am back???

2 years later, yes I am back to style and lifestyle blogging, officially.

What does that mean, for me, and my media career?

It means that I have invested 2 years of my life in building products which I have faith will do well, even without my every day hand in them.

That being the case, I realise I am finally getting some time to do what I love – which is writing, and style/lifestyle blogging.

It means that I am still a producer and a publisher, but now have enough time to blog too.

Unlearning, and Relearning?

I have spent the past 2 years unlearning every single thing. I stopped doing right about everything. I stopped working out. I stopped wearing make up. I stopped combing my hair. I even stopped going to church. I really stripped down to zero, and I love it.

Most of my unlearning had to do with stripping away everything that I did for validation. I wanted to know what I like when the world loses its opinions. It was a psychological journey, which turned to plenty emotional, and later physical. It’s been such a beautiful experience!

Right now, I am relearning – retracing my steps, finding what I like – keeping some old preferences, discarding some, and discovering new ones.

The Rebrand

As I rebranded, and separated all the products stated above to become independent entities from me, I have also been able to strip BY NTHA MEDIA back down to what it was originally about – me, sharing on life, and lifestyle.

I am more precise in what you expect to find here – so let me clarify:

What we champion

Wellness, Travel, Lifestyle, and Advocacy.

Products

Malawi Wanga, Morning Star News, WMU Malawi Pageant, and Kwathu Music.

Personal Blog

Digi Savvy, Chic Redefined, and Picky Palate.

This article was to specifically (re) introduce Chic Redefined. so let’s do that.

About Chic Redefined

It is my 25th year, and I feel like I am finally growing into womanhood.

I find myself naturally wanting to cover up more (Finally! You’re welcome mom!) I have a deep desire to be taken seriously as an entrepreneur; and at the core of that is my image.

I have invested thousands of dollars in my wardrobe, and I would love to share, again, the beautiful simplicity that is my style with you.

I will, as usual, be telling where I buy my stuff, and how I style some pieces.

I am still making amends with beauty products and make up. I, on occassion, rock a rep lippy – but on most days prefer just a tinted lipbalm.

Maybe along the way, we can chat about capitalism, consummerism, and all othe such things that run the beauty industry.

About this Outfit

The pants!

Yes the pants!

I got these pants on Pretty Little Things for $5. I got about 10 wide-legged pants because I am clearly obsessed, and I mean, can you blame me?

The top

The top is thrifted! MK1,500 ($2) baby!

The Bag

I got the bag in Cambodia 2 years ago. There is a funny story surrounding this bag, but I will talk about another day.

The heels

These are some lost ink’s I have been dying to own from Asos. Should be about $30.

Accessories

This is a Pierre Cardin set.
